Jonas Reingold is KARMAKANIC

I send him an email and that´s the answer:

Hereīs the answers. Try to catch up the kings while we are on tour so we can talk more. Cheers.

ragazzi: "At first please tell something about your musical background. Which instruments do you play? In which bands do you have played? Are there some albums you have played on? What is inspiration for you?"
Jonas: "Iīm a bassplayer but I can play some keyboards and guitar. I mostly listen to Jazz and fusion and progressive music. But bands like Kings X, Ramstein are good as well."
ragazzi: "Is "Karmakanic" your first solo effort? If not, which is?"
Jonas: "My first recording as a bandleader was Sweden Bass Orchestra feat. Niels Henning Orstedt Pedersen. It was a Jazz album with 6 bass players and one drummer."
ragazzi: "The musicians on "Karmakanic" are most of the Flower Kings. Who are the others?"
Jonas: "Itīs Göran Edman on vocals. I had worked with him on my Universe album so it was natural for me to use him again. The other guitarist Johan Glossner is an old friens of mine and a very talented musician."
ragazzi: "How was the atmosphere of the jamming/studio work?"
Jonas: "Nice, when you have nice people around you they create a nice vibe."
ragazzi: "Do you the only composer? Some songs/arrangements sounds very much in the Flower Kings vein. Was Roine Stolt helping?"
Jonas: "Iīm the only composer on the record, but I think if you are using TFK on a couple of songs they will sound like TFK."
ragazzi: ""Kamakanic" is a bit more songoriented like the Flower Kings. It sounds between Progressive Rock, Prog Metal with some mainstream influences. Not easy going, but with groove and tons of melody. Is it the musical way absolute what you want?"
Jonas: "I always focus on the songwriting. Iīm a sucker for beautiful melodies so itīs natural for me to write in that direction."
ragazzi: ""Karmakanic" is having some very heavy parts. Is Roine playing the heavy guitar? In some parts the music sounds ironic, at first in "Welcome to paradise" the vocal parts. Do I understand it right so?"
Jonas: "Does humor belong in music? Yes I think so, music can have all the expressions."
ragazzi: "What is the lyrical story of "Karmakanic"?"
Jonas: "Itīs about a guy living his life on the internet instead of the real world. I think many people around the world try to run away from their real life. Some people drink too much of alcohol, some train too much others have sex too much, some watch too much TV etc. I reflect upon that theme."
ragazzi: "There are very good compositions. Sounds not like a first work, more like a practised, experienced work. How do you get the ideas? Are you a studied musician?"
Jonas: "I studied music in the university for 4 years. But music is like life itself you will never be finished with your studies. Itīs always something new to learn."
ragazzi: "The Flower Kings family is working very hard. This year comes out a double Flower Kings set, Thomas Bodin, Karmakanic and Hasse Bruniusson. Roine is working with Transatlantic, Hasse with New Grove Project. How do you manage that with the rest of life: family, eat and drink? Do youīve got time to sleep anymore?"
Jonas: "Ha ha my schedule is quite busy."
ragazzi: "Is "Karmakanic" a project you will work the next time with or was it just a step in your musical way?"
Jonas: "Hopefully we will record another album, at least it is my intension."
ragazzi: "What is making Jaime Salazar today? Is he playing in other bands again?"
Jonas: "Jaime is a part of Karmakanic, and he is busy with different artists."
ragazzi: "Do you in contact to other musicians ot the swedish prog scene: Mats/Morgan or other?"
Jonas: "I have recorded with Morgan Ågren and Pär Lind, so I now them quite well. Anekdoten are a very good band."
ragazzi: "How is it to work with Roine Stolt? I donīt think that he is a dictator like Robert Fripp or Frank Zappa, go I right?"
Jonas: "No he is a nice person with a small ego, so itīs very pleasing to work with him."
ragazzi: "What are your future plans?"
Jonas: "Go out on European tour next week with the Flower kings"
